Something to Take off the Edge is a unique and thought-provoking one-man show that explores the intersection of mental health, addiction, and learning difficulties, within the criminal justice system.

Heavily based on lived experience this One-Man-Show Tragi-Comedy follows the journey of two men from different walks of life, as they navigate the realities of long-term incarceration during 1980s Britain. The show delves into the complex relationship between the two men as they find solace in each other's company, literature, and other ‘treats’ while coping with past traumas and mental health struggles.

Poignant and often funny, Something To Take Off The Edge also has a deeper purpose; It aims to encourage reading and promote literacy among prisoners and also promote inclusivity and accessibility in the arts and society by exploring the idea of how personal life stories and events can be transformed into works of literature, performance, and other forms of art.
