The BLN logo, a yellow circle with an afro hairstyle and a mic outline inside. Just below the yellow circle it says: Speak Easy Po Jam

Black Lives Natter invites Black & Global Majority artists to an experimental night of music and word fusion. Each month at Theatre Deli we ask musicians, beat-boxers, spoken word artists, music producers and composers to share their work in the open mic, then to jam collectively in a freestyle section at the end of the event (Po’JaM).

The event includes the opportunity for Open-Mic Artists to send backing tracks, samples, beats, loops and bring their voices, instruments and creations to the Theatre Deli Cafe/Bar. All we ask is that audiences and artists respect the shared work and lived experience of ALL participants and donate to this Pay What You Can Event.

Find out more about Black Lives Natter

Black Lives Natter is a Community Arts organisation and a platform for Black and Global Majority artists and individuals, with a focus on survivors, neuro-diverse, queer, queenagers, and those with disabilities, and individuals within those communities who have historically been denied access to the arts.

Black Lives Natter believes that in order for communities to thrive, that the individuals within those communities have to be seen and heard. We imagine the power of shared stories, art and theatre to heal, document and celebrate. Our soul endeavour is to create a safe non-judgemental spaces to increase access, awareness and engagement both in the arts and in sharing and learning from the lived experience of those revealed ‘invisible’ stories.
