City of London 2022-2026

107 Leadenhall Street

Dates: 2022-2026

Ground Floor & Mezzanine

Expanding to 1st & 2nd floor (2025 - 2026)

Local Authority: City Of London

Landlord: Frontier Dragon

We began with the Ground floor and Mezzanine studio and 14 rehearsal studios, including 2 black box performance spaces, a calm room and coworking space. We created 5 spaces to be hired by creative companies or artists studios.

We also had a vibrant cafe bar that hosted meet ups, parties and community events

The internal artwork was created by Leeds-based artist Nicole Rose Munhawa

In 2025 we took on an additional 2 floors in the building, doubling our rehearsal space capacity, and creating additional calm rooms and a prayer room. We also created 2 Creative Pods that were free to book for our members.

Festivals

In 2023 the venue hosted the Social Model & More Festival in tandem with our Arley Street venue in Sheffield, curated by Caroline Mawer.

In 2023 we also hosted and seed funded Black Joy, a one-day festival curated by Black Lives Natter.

In 2024 and 2025 we were one of many venues participating in Voila Festival, London’s multicultural and multi language theatre festival. This included 6 performances performed each weekend of the festival

2024 and 2025 we hosted performances under our City Fringe banner

In 2024, 2025 and 2026 we hosted Voidspace Live, a festival of interactive art and performance.

From 2023-2026 we hosted The Smoke, an annual chamber LARP festival.

Awards

In 2026 Theatre Deli was awarded by the Lady Mayor Dame Susan Langley for Representing Diverse London during our contribution to the City of London’s Careers Festival and Insight Days.

In 2025 Theatre Deli was awarded a Special Commendation from the ABTT Stephen Joseph Award 2025 panel, "in recognition of delivering creative and adventurous work changing the UK performing arts landscape".

Residency Artists

Theatre Deli supports talented artists with space, expertise and funding to develop their work. In 2025 two of our four Resident Artists were selected from applicants who live in Enfield, which has historically had less cultural investment and engagement than other London boroughs. For the residency programme we partnered Leadenhall Street with The Dugdale Arts Centre, hosting work-in-progress sharings from our residency artists in the Enfield performance space, after a two-week development period at Theatre Deli Leadenhall Street.

The Theatre Deli 2025 Residency Programme was supported by Arts Council England

Shift+Space

Our early-career development programme for artists to receive live feedback you need to take a project to the next level. SHIFT+SPACE is a free performance opportunity with 100% of Box Office retained by artists, plus seed funding, in-kind rehearsal space and marketing support, all of which is designed to encourage artists to get live audience feedback at an early stage of creating new work.

Previous SHIFT + SPACE artists include theatrical new writing readings, drag/character comedy, shadow puppetry, dance and performance art, sound installations and more!

Artists receive feedback on their first showing on a Friday and then use their second showing on a Saturday to try out a shifted version the following day.
