This archived event took place on 8-11/02/2021 at 8PM.

We’re punks. We’re femme fatales. We're locked down. We’re plastic bags, drifting through the wind, wanting to start again.

Welcome to the house of GASH.

We’ve been waiting for you.

This is a thirst trap.

A thirst trap.

We’re pop princesses. We’re schoolgirls. We’re punks. We’re toxic, baby. We’re femme fatales who’ll seduce you for your cash. We’re soaring, flying.

A thirst trap.

A trap.

We’ve got that super bass. We’re party girls who like to get messy. We’re plastic bags, drifting through the wind, wanting to start again.

A trap.

It’s a trap!

We’re bored and needy and angry. And we want a boogie.

Our thirst trap is hungry.

Let us eat you up.

Gash Theatre Makes a ThirstTrap is an immersive digital theatre piece that explores female sexuality. As such, you'll be thrilled to know it contains strong sexual references and depictions of sexual acts, references to sexual violence, flashing images, and one death with a gunshot sfx.

18+ and best viewed wearing headphones and your favourite underwear.

This is a Pay What You Can performance.

This event was part of GASH Theatre's Lonely Hearts Club, a week supporting the development of GASH Theatre's next project.

About the company

WE ARE GASH THEATRE: A queer, feminist performance company all about fusing theatre and film into trashy, glittery, organized chaos. By deconstructing form and reconfiguring our own gender identities, we aim to make work that is critically provocative, technically groundbreaking, yet still makes you want to boogie. www.gashtheatre.com

Inspired by our ever-changing relationship with the online world, our work responds to virtual platforms whilst honoring theatricality and liveness. Our debut production, Gash Theatre Makes a ThirstTrap, is immersive digital theatre taking the form of a B-list horror movie in a house haunted by ghosts of femininity. Using tropes of pop, film noir, drag, and burlesque, we explore the complexities of embracing our own sexualities in the current world. How does one make a feminist thirst trap?

“THIRSTTRAP is intriguing, utterly compelling viewing, perfect for the theatre lover who enjoys a challenge […] Some seriously weird shit indeed. ” Everything Theatre ⭐⭐⭐⭐
