Job Overview

The Marketing Manager is responsible for all of Theatre Deli’s external communications, from social media channels to press releases, building awareness of the organisation and maintaining Theatre Deli’s brand and voice, as well as managing our website and contributing to our audience development. It’s a varied role working closely with our CEO, Executive Producer and both venues’ teams.

The role is full-time (40-hour per week), based at and focused on our Sheffield venue with regular digital communication with the London team and occasional travel to the London venue.

Responsibilities and Duties

Sheffield Marketing

  • Oversee all Sheffield’s marketing and communications output. 

  • Designing and sending out Sheffield’s monthly e-newsletter. Maintain/update mailing list and ensure GDPR regulations are adhered to. 

  • Deal with press enquiries and write venue specific Press Releases. 

  • Liaising with theatre companies for show marketing

  • Manage inputting of event listings on website, ticketing platform and other listing sites as appropriate

  • Ensure all Sheffield pages, listings, opportunities and events are up to date on the Theatre Deli website 

  • Work alongside Sheffield Producer to create season brochure. 

  • Organise print distribution for appropriate in-house projects and programmes. 

  • Design print adverts and other marketing print materials for appropriate in-house projects and programmes.

  • Manage print in Box Office, poster frames and on community noticeboard 

  • Work with Sheffield Producer on developing a healthy, diverse returning audience.

  • Contacting local event organisers, businesses and organisations to expand client base and increase hire revenue. 

  • Create social media content to push venue hire and bar offers. 

  • Key holder for Sheffield venue.


Branding

  • Proof and sign-off all Theatre Deli internal and visiting company marketing materials.

  • Responsibility for maintaining Theatre Deli’s branding deployment and ‘voice’ across the organisation.


National Marketing 

  • With the Executive Team, ensure Theatre Deli’s values of inclusivity, representation, empowerment and collaboration are present throughout TD’s marketing activity 

  • Champion accessibility across Theatre Deli's communications in line with the organisation's Accessibility Policy

  • Create venue specific season marketing strategy to include website and social media content. 

  • With Executive team and venue producers, manage website pages on national artistic and job opportunities.

  • Deal with press enquiries and write press releases for TD’s national programmes. 

  • Lead all venues’ email marketing output.

  • Oversee and deputise all venues’ social media output.

  • Maintain clear press and marketing guides for all venues’ visiting companies.

  • Manage the front page of the website, ensuring organisational priorities are reflected.

  • Liaise with TD London staff and any other Deli venue team on promotion of artistic opportunities, programmes and studio hire offering


Skills and Experience

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Understanding of the importance of access to and representation within the arts sector

  • Strong organisational ability

  • Strong time management

  • Experience of copywriting and proofing

  • Experience of social media marketing 

  • Experience of basic graphic design and image editing

  • Familiarity with all major social media platforms.


Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Experience of creating email marketing campaigns (we use Mailchimp)

  • Experience of updating websites (we use Access UK)

  • Basic video editing skills

  • Creative campaign creation

  • Multimedia content creation

  • Familiarity with ticketing platforms (we use Eventbrite)

  • Understanding of the theatre industry

  • Knowledge and experience of the arts and culture scene of Sheffield

  • Proficiency with at least some of the software packages: Adobe Creative Cloud/Canva, Buffr, Google Documents / Drives, Mailchimp

Terms

Location:  Sheffield with occasional travel to London

Hours: 40 hours, Monday - Friday. Joint applications or applications for flexible working are welcome.

Pay: £25,000 p.a. 

Holidays: 28 days per annum including Public Holidays

Contract type: Permanent

Probation: 6 months

Notice period: 2 months

Benefits: Statutory workplace pension

Flexible in-person and remote working
