Jen Quinn is a theatre creator, director, dramaturg and producer who has worked numerous bar jobs throughout her freelance career. Originally from Canada she has worked her way west from Vancouver Island, British Colombia to Montreal, Quebec and now calls London, UK home. She has worked in English, French and Spanish and hopes that this list keeps growing. Her work has been seen at the Victoria and Montréal Fringe Festivals as well as Toronto’s SummerWorks Performance Festival where she received an Honourable Mention in the Canadian Stage Award for Direction. Jen was the Head Administrator of Montréal’s tiny artist collective performance studio, The Freestanding Room, where she founded, curated and produced the ShortStanding Festival of Short Performances. Jen is currently Artistic Associate for Directors Lab North (Toronto) and a founding board member for MTL Clowns, the organization that produces Le Festival des Clowns de Montréal annually. Her work is grounded in feminism, visual storytelling and new play development and tends towards intimate performances in non-traditional spaces. Different styles, forms and mediums merge and mix, often in immersive installation design. Whenever possible she uses recycled materials and makes eco-conscious decisions regarding the design and execution of her productions.
