Dark Yellow Dot & Theatre Deli invite all local black artists working in any medium to submit artwork to the BOLD portrait exhibition celebrating black excellence in arts in the UK. The call for art includes portraits by visual artists, musicians, singer-songwriters, poets, photographers, digital artists and more. The exhibition will run during Black History Month from 7th - 30th of October and the opening reception includes live performances by artists from WOKE.

Dark Yellow Dot is an arts platform that encourages new and emerging artists with a strong personal vision and innovative approach to art making. We will be selecting portraiture work by 9 black artists living and working in the UK. Artists will show their work alongside artist, curator and founder of Dark Yellow Dot, Lauren Little.

The exhibition will be held at and part curated by Theatre Deli London, which is an arts space for performing artists. Theatre Deli aims to empower artists who want to change the world. They have been a driving force within the arts for over 10 years, supporting early career artists whose work sits outside traditional theatre. They work to develop diverse audiences, expand the cultural offering, and provide safe environments for artists at every stage of their career to experiment, trial & showcase new work.

Please understand that both DYD and Theatre Deli takes pride is showcasing all cultures and backgrounds, however this particular call out is for Black/Black British artists. Both the artist and the artwork must be in the UK to be considered. Artists retain the rights to their own artwork.
