ARTISTS WANTED: PANDEMIC IN THE CITY - DEADLINE EXTENDED We're looking for artists working or living in the City of London to create stories, performances or visual work inspired by the effects of the 2020 pandemic and lockdown and possible futures. Theatre Deli and Dark Yellow Dot have teamed up once again to commission ten new pieces. Theatre Deli exists to enrich and enlarge people’s cultural and creative lives. With a wide variety of activities and unique spaces, Theatre Deli’s Broadgate venue is a key cultural hub in the heart of the City of London. With this project, for the first time it will focus exclusively on the artists of the area. Dark Yellow Dot is an artist run platform about supporting and making space for new artists and creative beginners. Dark Yellow Dot provides opportunities for emerging artists by partnering with organisations that care about bringing real artists into real spaces, making art accessible to real people. About the Project We'll be selecting 10 artists or groups of artists to create original art or performance inspired by the pandemic, lockdown and possible post-pandemic futures. Selected artists will receive a £500 fee, support, and mentorship or training to help shape and refine their work. • 10 artists / groups from with the City of London will be selected*• Art inspired by pandemic, lockdown and possible post-pandemic futures• Any artistic medium / practice will be considered• Performance work should last no longer than 30 mins• 3+ hours of training & support by Theatre Deli & Dark Yellow Dot• Performed/exhibited live at Theatre Deli Broadgate in April/May 2021• This is a paid opportunity and it is free to apply• If you are new or emerging, are black or an ethnic minority or may have never been selected by Theatre Deli or Dark Yellow Dot before, we actively encourage you to apply for this opportunity. * This project has been funded by the City of London Corporation and as such to be eligible to apply you must be based within that area. When Any selected artists involved will agree to be available to develop their piece during February & March 2021 and will be available to exhibit or perform their piece on a date to be agreed in April or May. We aim for shows to be performed live at Theatre Deli Broadgate, but will present online alternatives if needed. Deadline to apply is Sunday 31st January at 12 noon.
