Theatre Deli is a charity. We turn disused spaces into inclusive and accessible spaces of creative activity. After setting up a series of venues in London, Theatre Deli came up to Sheffield in the Summer of 2014 to stage an outdoor production in a park. While in Sheffield, we heard that the former Woolworths building was lying empty on The Moor and realised it would make the perfect first Northern venue.

After two years in the old Woolworths, we made the move to Eyre Street in October 2017, taking over what was once a Mothercare. We stayed at Eyre Street for four years, temporarily closing during the pandemic and reopening for six months before leaving the venue in January 2022. Now regarded as a key fixture of Sheffield's cultural scene, we are in the process of sourcing a new venue, and can't wait to see what the next chapter holds for Deli Sheffield.

The impact of Theatre Deli on the creative culture in Sheffield should not be underestimated or taken for granted

- Karl Olsen, Director of LGBT Sheffield Charity and Community Group

Programming at Theatre Deli focuses on new talent, our network of artists form a community of early career creatives – so far, shows have included everything from touring productions fresh from the Edinburgh Fringe to immersive theatre, improv comedy to celebrations of LGBTQ culture. Some of Sheffield's most established theatre companies have brought their work to us, including experimental theatre pioneers Forced Entertainment and the forward-thinking Third Angel. We have been a key partner in Migration Matters Festival and are proud to have supported important Sheffield initiatives including Sightlines, Passing the Baton  and Dig Where You Stand.

In April 2022, Theatre Deli moved into their third Sheffield venue: Cuthbert House, Arley Street, Sheffield, S2 4QP, opening their doors to the public in March 2023.
