Drawing on her experience as an Arts organisation employee, Rosa examines the relationship between a spokesperson and their institution. Taking on familiar roles, she performs an in-house announcement, a thank-you to the sponsors, a warm-up act…

Composed is a feminist investigation into social conventions, contained fury and work. A high octane show dealing with apologetic addresses, revved-up entrepreneurial spiel and whether or not you are asking for it. Through subversive humour Composed interrogates theatre rituals, fantasy and institutional violence. And plays with what happens when the composition cracks.

About the Artist:

Rosa is an artist, dramaturg and producer from Leicester based in Newcastle upon Tyne. She plays with recognisable social activities like lectures, tannoy announcements or wine-tasting events to shake up the taken-for-grantedness of the way things are. On the boundary of theatre and live art her artworks are self-reflexive, biting and funny.
